Information on the Outage on 07.06.2024

Due to a failure of Combahton's core router (core01.ffm3, Interxion), our EGC location was inaccessible on June 7, 2024, from 12:10 to 15:17.

The extended downtime at our site, compared to competitors using the same core, can be attributed to the lack of redundancies, such as a backup connection, which should activate during a Combahton outage. This is unexpected, as we assumed such measures were already in place. The EGC website states:

As you may already know, we are planning to leave our EGC site. This recent outage confirms our decision. Further information on the move, planned for November 2024, will follow. The relocation will take place at Tornado DC.

Despite the 187-minute downtime, our SLA of 99% was not breached. Therefore, no refunds or credit notes are currently planned. If we receive a credit note from the data center, we will pass it on accordingly. At this time, we have no further information on any developments in this regard.
